St. Bakhita Day was celebrated on 28th February at Maryvale High School with devotion and awareness. Around 300 students participated in the programme, reflecting on the inspiring life of St. Josephine Bakhita, who rose from the pain of slavery to become a symbol of faith, courage, and freedom.
The resource person, Sr. Agnesia Frank, addressed the gathering and created awareness about the growing issue of human trafficking. She explained its causes, dangers, and preventive measures, urging students to stay alert and informed. Through her motivating talk, students understood the importance of protecting human dignity and standing up for the vulnerable.
The programme encouraged everyone to promote compassion, justice, and respect for human life. It concluded with a pledge to fight against exploitation and to spread hope in society, keeping alive the spirit of freedom and resilience shown by St. Bakhita.
